T.M.F.A.F. 02:30
Reforestation isn't always the solution If it doesn't affect what's already destroyed They're saving their time for another decoy Remember when they destroyed the orange trees? Now we have Kohl's, Home Depot, and Applebee's Carbon sequestration will hold back some time But what about our future? Are you still believing your parties lies? None of it will matter when we all die

You take away You're like a union bureaucrat on election day You force the rights of federal And you deny the right to skreigh You don't deserve anyone anyway When will you realize who you really are? Whatever you try, you won't get far Take a look at yourself and what you've done And you still wonder why you're the only one

In a car with an oppressor and a teenage diplomat After all these years I never thought my life would be like that And tonight is no different than before Because I'm in my house and I'm locking the door We got sectioned off a long time ago Since then I've given up And these days have been going slow So raise your drinks to another pointless party Start fights, contretemps, and drink up all of the bacardi Why do I get used by them to get closer to their pick? Let's play your game of decompacity It's "stare but not care" philosophy This fallacious system only cares about one And I think this time I'm really done But that's when I saw the car next to me I stared for awhile, but you never stared at me It gave me hope that maybe some are different But when the message is that clear we're all the same We're working our years away We'd rather do it the next day And I'm telling you man that our lives will always be lame

Cel Damage 01:34
Sitting in my room Playing Cel Damage Why do I like you? I must have brain damage! When I’m looking at pictures of him grabbing your ass I start to shake and talk really fast Did you delete your account from all my stalking? Can you see my views as you stare at me walking? Your boyfriend videotapes my dumb band All your friends are obsessed with Dunkin Donuts And Tyler the Creator I don't know what to do I really hate this But I can’t stop now I heard you got a bad rep from my boy I hate the guys you hang out with With their stupid Pacsun outfits And I’m still sitting in my room Playing Cel Damage I’ll never get the nerve to strike up a conversation So I’ll just stare whenever you walk past Hoping for the day I won’t come in last

You're an annoying blink fan You're a psycho nationalist who fought my friend I was in the ninth grade We were playing four square You cheated on me everyday And always made fun of me Jerry punched you in the face And your glasses flew off You started crying Josh and I were laughing You didn't know who Skiba was before he joined the band They should really just quit because it's all one scam It's a "get big and rich" game plan I'm writing stupid songs And I'm wasting my time And they haven't made a "great" album since 1999 That's true! (I'm just poking fun, all you crazy blink fanatics out there. They were a great band in their prime. I regret the line about them not making a great album since 1999. I now LOVE the two records that follow Enema of the State. Still, I always felt a need to hate on blink for some reason, even though I enjoy their music. I was once a huge hater back in middle school, but then I slowly became a closeted listener in 2014. It's still fun to diss them and their fans, though. Can't go wrong with harmless, teenage dissings. Or can you...?)

Blue Trees 04:00
Hello, my friend, we meet again I know your likings have differed since then Changes are great But it seems like this one is permanent Has it been going on this long? These days it seems like it's all torn and thrown In my head are all the melodies that I've stolen The seasons change, you oughta know But I still feel like I'm covered in snow You have dreams, big ones, too I just don't see me standing next to you Am I spreading the rope too far? I just feel like I'm covered in tar Maybe you should stop being so uptight "Opposites attract" I don't think that's right All of these moments Are making this seem out of place Maybe I should quit Maybe I should just sit down Maybe I should just continue Maybe I should just continue with you What do I do, my friend?

Daily Thursday shutout past the Richey leaves Asked my boy Frankie if he could save a spot just for me Next thing I know, drops were falling on my Braves cap Ran in the mud Just me and a cold Coughing up my lunch Damn smoking habit's getting old Eyes grow clear And I see Frankie with two beers Willie in the background Handed me a beer and said "cheers!" Heard some bustle Crash sang sew Peeked in the closet Billy was dead on the floor Picked him up Put him in a chair Saw Billy smile Frankie said "No wonder why I'm losing my hair" I love it when Billy tests me Reminds me of our lives Drinking beers in the heat Billy stood up His grin faded away "That'll actually be me one day And you can cry and you can call But the ambulance won't help at all Just put on some Johnny Cash and put a beer in my hand And make me laugh." Finished up our beers and it was getting late Had to get up early I'll be mowing my lawn at 8 We went our separate ways on Chickdale and Smark Forgot my lighter and the street was real dark I hear a scream and I look around I see Billy, face-first dead on the ground And a car driving away I started running away I ran to the music store where the record players laid I grabbed some Cash And walked right out the door Clerk was too used to me robbing the store Then I ran to my place Grabbed three beers and I ran back to Billy Who was still laying dead on the ground I found a way to turn on the Cash Put a beer in his cold hand Then I opened mine and started singing along I knew right then This time he was gone Then I heard some singing and looked at Billy There he was breathing, singing along with me He took a sip and we laid laughing in the street

about

This is a compilation of material from various releases throughout 2016. Tracks 1-2 are from the Pootie / Ashala Rock Split which was released on February 26, 2016 through Carpet Shoes Records. Tracks 3-6 are from an EP called Covers which was released on April 3, 2016 through Carpet Shoes Records. The remaining songs were randomly recorded and put on this compilation. Track 8 is a song that I wrote with my friend Thomas Bjorkstrand for a short-lived band we were in called Dreadlock Dog. Thomas came up with the instrumental and I wrote the lyrics, vocal melody, bass lines, and I added some new guitar and drum parts. The band never did anything but record a demo of this song. I always liked the song, so I decided to record it by myself, as a cover. Track 9 is the original version of a tune I later reworked for my second album. It contains some of the stupidest lyrics I've ever written, but I still felt that this version deserved to shine. It's a lot longer than the more serious version that would appear on my second album, that's for sure! Track 11 was originally meant for a covers compilation that Hot Vodka Records was putting together. When I sent them the song, they just ignored me. I guess they didn't like it. Tracks 12 is a song that I originally wrote in 2013. It was technically part of the batch of songs that appeared on my first album, but I never considered putting it on that album. I always felt that I had clearly stole the verse melody from some sort of popular commercial jingle or nursery rhyme. I still don't know why it sounds so familiar to me. Because of that, I never felt like it was truly my song. I decided to record a final version (which was actually my test demo version to see if I wanted to record it for a full-length) for this compilation, because it fit with the general theme of covers. It's not a cover, but you know what I mean. It definitely has that strange "Man Pig" feel to it, though. It's awkward, sloppy and all over the place. Track 13 is another "test demo" I recorded to see if I wanted to cover the song for real. I never ended up re-recording it, so I figured I'd throw that on this compilation for fun. Track 14 is a song I made for an old high school band I was in. I wrote and recorded the entire song by myself for that band, and it always kind of bummed me out that it wasn't in the Pootie catalog, because it really is a Pootie song. One day I decided to re-record it specifically for Pootie so it could have a place in my discography.

Ripslack is a compilation album full of songs from various different releases recorded in the first half of 2016. It contains a lot of covers, including the beloved Covers EP. It's really sloppy, wild, and out of tune at times, but it has moments of coming together in a somewhat amusing (?) way. There's some overtly simple pop punk/alternative stuff, some acoustic songs, and even a crazy "country" song to finish it all off. I feel like this is where I really started to find my style. It represents a fun time in my musical journey of trying to figure it all out. Most people "figure it out" in a practice space with a band, but I was trying to figure music out alone in my bedroom through recording silly covers. Let me tell ya, there's some rough moments. For some of the songs, I decided to take things somewhat seriously. For others, it's an amateur mess. Some might like it, some might hate it. It probably sucks either way! Have your own opinions! Listen to it, kid!
